Cannabinoids, like cannabidiol (CBD), interact with CB1 and CB2 receptors, located all throughout our body’s endocannabinoid system. This system is believed to be responsible for various biological processes, with an overall goal of homeostasis.
Concentrated hemp oil offers more phytonutrients than any other hemp oil product type. This edible oil is full of active phytocannabinoids and other phytonutrients produced naturally by the hemp plant.
Concentrates are pure CBD extract from the hemp plant. There are no added ingredients, so the price point is typically better than any other type of full-spectrum hemp oil product.
CBD Concentrate Types
Our CBD concentrates are available in three versions.
- Green [Raw] Version (Raw Hemp Oil only, not decarboxylated- contains CBD and CBDa)
- Blue Version (Decarboxylated, contain CBD and some CBDa)
- Gold Version (Decarboxylated, then filtered. Contains only CBD, no CBDa)
When the oil is extracted from the hemp plant and does not go through any other processes, we get the Green (Raw) version.
Moving forward, the oil is heated in a lab to extract CO2; a process known as decarboxylation. This “activates” all the acid version of the cannabinoids, turning CBDa into CBD. We now have the Blue version.
The final step is filtering the oil. This removes most of the extra plant parts and turns the thick, dark paste into an orange-tinted gel substance. The oil will now have a higher concentration of CBD by volume but may contain fewer phytonutrients than the unfiltered versions. This is the Gold version.
